Lifted from http://coraline.livejournal.com/1219740.html Lemon-Rosemary-Pink Peppercorn Cookies zest a whole lemon (i used a peeler and chopped it fine, but using a zester would probably also work) chop a tablespoon of fresh rosemary leaves put the chopped lemon zest, rosemary, and a tablespoon of pink peppercorns in your mortar&pestle with a 1/4 cup of sugar, and pestle until all the peppercorns are smashed. cream together (i used my kitchenaid) 1 cup unsalted butter with 1/2 cup sugar plus the 1/4 cup sugar from the mortar&pestle once it's light&fluffy, add 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla once they're mixed, add 3/4 tsp salt 2 cups AP flour 1/2 fine cornmeal once it's incorporated, shape the dough into a log. i made it rectangular and about 1-2" on a side. chill at least 30m in the freezer. cut into 1/8-1/4" slices, bake at 350 until just barely golden on the edges (15? minutes)
