GINGERSNAPS 3/4 cup butter 1 cup brown sugar 1 egg 1/4 cup molasses 2 cups flour 2 teaspoon baking soda 1 tsp. ginger 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. cloves approximately 1 cup white sugar (to roll dough in) Cream butter and brown sugar. And egg and molasses. Beat well. Stir together dry ingredients (not including final cup white sugar). Add to wet ingredients, mix well. Chill 4 or more hours. Roll into small balls, and roll in white sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Little shards of dough will remain in sugar; these can be strained out and the sugar can be reused.
